Deadline changed.

In conjunction with the auspicious event, The Brunei Times is also organising a photographic competition for all Bruneians and those residing or visiting Brunei Darussalam — including the invited photojournalists — based on the four themes. Each photographer can submit up to six (6) digital images on each theme.

Three top prizes will be awarded for EACH theme:

  • 1st Prize US$1500
  • 2nd Prize US$1000
  • 3rd Prize US$500.

The Best Photography Award will go to the overall best entry to be chosen from the four 1st Prize winners. In addition, there will be a Special Award for the best entry submitted by students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions.

This competition is supported by the Brunei Photographic Society and the Brunei Darussalam Association of Photographers.

Selected images from the competition will be featured in a commemorative book for this auspicious event. The book will be presented as a gift to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The book will be rich in visual images and will convey the bond between His Majesty and his loyal subjects.

Yes! The deadline for the photographic competition has now been pushed to 31st July 2008 and no longer today, 25th July 2008! And by that means, I still have time and chance to participate and I might as well have the chance to win!! Big Time yo!! hehe.. I know withe the equipment I have, I might be outdone because there are other who far more better than I am especially those professional photographers. But I'll just give my best shot lah and pray for luck! Who knows it's just my luck? Phew.. *wipes forehead* Tough luck, I guess. heheh. I'm still deciding on what theme I'm using for the shots. I'm thinking of doing pictures on the People and Cultural Heritage theme, because I think it's lot more easier. haah.. I wish! Enough said.
